DALLAS – Police officers are dealing with stressful times for law enforcement across the country. Many officers are finding relief and comfort, continuing to connect with the communities they serve.
Detective Sgt. Terri Thomas, with the Dallas Independent School District, says her passion is connecting with kids from the community through sports. She’s helping to make a difference in the lives of young girls.
On the volleyball court, she’s simply known as Coach Terri. She’s a strong mentor, students say, and one of the founders of Airell’s Court Club Volleyball.
It’s the no-nonsense detective sergeant’s work with Dallas ISD police that’s helping push her passions past crime fighting to help young female athletes across Southern Dallas.
